Medical Disclaimer

Effective date: May 27, 2026

Please read this disclaimer carefully before using Pibu.

Pibu is not a medical service

Pibu is a cosmetic skincare organisational tool. It uses AI to help you identify products on your shelf, understand ingredient overlaps, and build a structured morning and evening routine.

Pibu is not a dermatologist, physician, or any kind of licensed healthcare provider. Nothing in the Pibu app or on the Pibu website constitutes medical advice, a medical diagnosis, or a recommendation to treat, cure, prevent, or manage any disease, skin condition, or health problem.

What Pibu does not do

  • Diagnose skin conditions — Pibu does not identify, diagnose, or assess medical conditions such as eczema, acne, rosacea, psoriasis, contact dermatitis, or any other condition.
  • Prescribe or recommend treatments — Pibu does not recommend prescription medications, medicated products, or therapeutic regimens.
  • Replace professional advice — The suggestions Pibu provides are not a substitute for a consultation with a qualified dermatologist or other licensed healthcare professional.
  • Account for your medical history — Pibu does not know your allergies, medications, diagnoses, or personal health history unless you explicitly tell it, and even then it cannot evaluate that information clinically.

What Pibu is for

Pibu is designed to help you organise the over-the-counter cosmetic products already on your shelf — products you have chosen to use — into a logical, consistent daily routine. It highlights common cosmetic ingredient pairing considerations (e.g. acids and retinoids used at the same time) based on publicly available general guidance.

These are cosmetic, not clinical considerations.

When to see a professional

You should consult a qualified dermatologist or physician if you:

  • Experience persistent irritation, redness, burning, or breakouts.
  • Have an existing skin condition or suspected allergy.
  • Are pregnant, breastfeeding, or on prescription medication.
  • Notice any new or changing skin lesions, rashes, or discolouration.
  • Are considering introducing active ingredients (retinoids, acids, prescription-strength products) for the first time.

Do not rely on Pibu in place of professional medical guidance.

Limitation of liability

By using Pibu, you acknowledge and agree that Pibu and its operators shall not be liable for any skin reaction, health outcome, or adverse effect arising from following suggestions made by the app. Use any cosmetic product at your own discretion, patch-test new products before full application, and seek professional advice if you have any concerns.
