Privacy Policy

Pibu (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is committed to being clear about the data we collect and why. This policy covers the Pibu marketing website (pibu.life) and the Pibu mobile app. If you have questions, email us at hello@pibu.life.

1. What We Collect

Waitlist (website)

When you join the waitlist, we collect your email address. We also log a hashed (SHA-256) version of your IP address and basic request metadata (user-agent, referrer) solely for abuse prevention. Raw IP addresses are never stored.

App usage (mobile)

The Pibu app is currently in beta. When you use the app we may collect:

• Account information — email address if you create an account.
• Photos — some Pibu features may allow optional photo uploads, including product shelf photos and optional skin-profile or progress photos. All photo features require your consent. Depending on the feature, photos may be processed temporarily or stored securely under your account until you delete them. Where supported, you can always enter products manually instead of photographing them. We do not use your photos to train AI models, and we do not use photos to diagnose medical conditions.
• Skincare products and routines — the products you add and the routines Pibu builds for you.
• Usage analytics — anonymous, aggregated data (e.g. feature usage, crash reports) to improve the app.

2. How We Use Your Data

• To send you launch updates and early access information (waitlist only).
• To provide and improve the Pibu app experience.
• To detect and prevent abuse of our services.
• To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with advertisers.

3. Photos and Optional Image Uploads

All photo and image features in Pibu are optional. Where a feature supports it, you can always enter products manually instead of using your camera.

Some Pibu features may allow optional photo uploads, including product shelf photos and optional skin-profile or progress photos. These features require your explicit consent before activation. Depending on the feature:

• Photos used only for real-time processing (e.g. label recognition) are sent to our AI service and are not retained by Pibu after the request completes.
• Photos stored under your account (e.g. progress photos, if that feature is enabled) are kept securely until you delete them or delete your account.

We do not use your photos to train AI models. We do not use photos to diagnose, treat, or assess any medical condition. Any stored photos can be deleted through the account deletion or data deletion tools — see our Data Deletion page.

If a future feature requires new types of image data not described here, we will update this policy and ask for your explicit consent before enabling it.

4. Affiliate Links

Pibu may suggest replacement or complementary products. Some of these links may be affiliate links — if you purchase through them, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate links are always disclosed near the recommendation. See our Affiliate Disclosure for details.

5. Data Storage and Security

Waitlist emails are stored in Supabase in our selected project region. Access is restricted to server-side code using a service-role key; no client-side code can read or write this table directly. We use HTTPS for all data in transit.

App data is stored in Supabase under your authenticated account. We apply row-level security so users can only access their own data.

6. Analytics

The marketing website (pibu.life) uses Vercel Speed Insights to understand basic site performance and page-load behaviour. We use this information to monitor loading speed and improve the website experience. We do not use this data to identify individual visitors, sell personal data, or serve targeted advertising. Vercel Speed Insights does not set cookies. If we add broader analytics, advertising pixels, or tracking cookies in the future, we will update this policy.

7. Children’s Privacy

Pibu is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, or to request removal from the waitlist, email hello@pibu.life or visit our Data Deletion page. We will respond within 30 days.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. We’ll note the revised effective date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify waitlist members by email.
